Privacy Policy

Dreamurti is a dream-journaling and social discovery app. We built it to help you record, share, and explore dreams with people you trust. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you control it.
1. Who We Are
Dreamurti is operated as an independent application ("we," "us," or "our"). For privacy inquiries, contact us at privacy@dreamurti.com.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- Account data – email address, display name, profile photo, and username you choose when registering.
- Dream entries – titles, content, dates, media (photos, audio), locations, and visibility settings you apply to each dream.
- Connected social accounts – when you link Instagram, X (Twitter), TikTok, Snapchat, WeChat, or Telegram, we store your username or verified identifier for that platform. We do not store your passwords or access tokens beyond the minimum needed to complete account linking.
- Phone number – if you choose to verify your phone number so contacts can find you.
- Usage data – interactions such as follows, likes, comments, and notifications, stored to deliver the social features of the app.
- Device data – push notification tokens so we can send you alerts. We do not collect device identifiers for advertising purposes.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Dreamurti app.
- To let other users find and follow you by social handle or phone number (only if you have enabled those features).
- To send push notifications for interactions (likes, comments, mentions, mutual dreams) that you have enabled in settings.
- To detect and prevent abuse, spam, or violations of our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your dream content for advertising or train AI models on your private entries.
4. Third-Party Services
Dreamurti uses the following third-party infrastructure:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging) — Firebase Privacy
- Expo / EAS — used to build and distribute the app — Expo Privacy
- TikTok for Developers — for account linking via OAuth — TikTok Privacy
- X (Twitter) API — for account linking via OAuth — X Privacy
- Snapchat OAuth — for account linking — Snap Privacy
When you connect a social account, you are also subject to that platform's privacy policy. We only request the minimum scopes needed to verify your identity on that platform.
5. Data Sharing
We do not share your personal information with third parties except:
- With infrastructure providers listed above, strictly to operate the service.
- When required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.
- In the event of a business transfer (merger or acquisition), with appropriate notice to you.
6. Dream Visibility & Sharing
Every dream has a visibility setting you control: private, mutual connections only, or public. Public dreams are visible to all Dreamurti users and may appear in discovery feeds. Private dreams are visible only to you. We do not change the visibility of your content without your action.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account. Deletion removes your profile, dreams, and linked accounts from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
8. Children's Privacy
Dreamurti is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at privacy@dreamurti.com and we will delete the account promptly.
9. California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal data we collect and how it is used.
- Request deletion of your personal data.
- Opt out of the sale of personal data — we do not sell personal data.
- Non-discrimination for exercising your rights.

10. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), Firebase security rules to restrict data access, and OAuth 2.0 for third-party account linking. No system is perfectly secure — if you discover a vulnerability, please report it responsibly to privacy@dreamurti.com.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email. Continued use of Dreamurti after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
